THERESA MAY -- MAYBOT DANCE SELF-DESTRUCT

Some of Theresa May’s critics already call her “RoboMay,” or “Maybot," claiming the British prime minister speaks and moves in a way that makes her come off as robotic. Last year, after she was accused of repeating Brexit catchphrases, she said on BBC that she doesn’t think she’s “the least bit robotic.”

So it isn’t shocking that the South African government tweeting a video clip of her dancing with students in Cape Town on Tuesday slightly overshadowed her trade-focused trip to South Africa, leading some to draw comparison between her dance moves and a robot.

In the video, she stiffly moves back and forth as a group of children dances across from her, her leopard-print shoes tapping this way and that. The short clip became a Twitter moment, with social media users calling her moves “dad dancing" and “painful.”

“Theresa May dances like she’s had her freedom of movement surgically removed,” one user wrote.
